Gala tickets are $200 per person, GST exempt, 50% of ticket is tax-receiptable.

Vision: All young people realize their full potential.
Mission: BBBS's mission is to enable life-changing mentoring relationships, powered by volunteers, to ignite the potential of young people. At the core of our work we match youth with caring mentors to facilitate Developmental Relationships. Mentors form strong one-to-one relationships with their mentees that express care, challenge growth, provide support, share power, and expand possibilities. These critical Developmental Relationships allow children and youth to strengthen their social-emotional competencies and executive functioning skills, developing them into resilient young people who are able to overcome life’s adversities and ultimately, to thrive.
Every young person has somewhere they want to go, but not everyone has someone helping them find the way.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area connects young people with caring mentors who build confidence, open doors, and help them see what’s possible. Through consistent encouragement, shared experiences, and someone showing up for them, young people discover their strengths, navigate challenges, and build a stronger sense of belonging.
Our school and community mentoring programs create space for young people to feel heard, supported, and valued. Whether it’s a conversation during the school day, exploring a new interest, or working through a difficult moment together, these relationships help young people develop important life skills and feel more confident about their futures.
The impact grows through everyday moments. A mentor’s encouragement can give a young person the courage to try something new. Their listening ear can help ease feelings of isolation. Their steady presence can remind a young person that they have someone to count on and that their dreams are worth pursuing.
Over the past year, BBBS Calgary and Area supported 1,098 mentoring matches and served 1,626 children and youth, including 646 mentees in schools, 318 community mentees, and 662 teen mentors. Our 1,063 volunteers contributed 40,187 hours of mentorship, reaching young people in Calgary, Airdrie, and Rocky View County.
Behind every number is a young person with their own strengths, challenges, and hopes. Teen mentors also have opportunities to build leadership skills, practise empathy, and discover the difference they can make in someone else’s life. Together, these relationships strengthen connections and help build a more caring community.
Because sometimes the most important thing you can give a young person isn’t a roadmap; it’s someone willing to ride alongside them, celebrate their progress, and help them believe in how far they can go.
